Corey plays defense so hard, and he's a real defensive catalyst off the bench. Lamar also had one of his better games at the defensive end. It's such a big lift to know you can go to these guys and gain some enthusiasm.

You have more choices on defensive linemen for the 3-4, ... There's such a premium on 6-5, 285-pound defensive ends and defensive tackles. It's hard to find those guys. You don't have to find big, big guys in that defense because it's all movement. There's more movement than toe-to-toe stuff. You can be more flexible with their movement.

The thing I'm most proud of tonight is our defensive play. I thought our defensive guys came out and played with some intensity and enthusiasm.

Without a doubt, it puts a lot more pressure on the defense. They have to make plays all the time. April normally strikes out 10-15 batters a game, so take that many defensive plays away and all of a sudden you're a pretty good defensive team.

I had seen him play for Sacramento. We needed guys to come off the bench and not [have to] run plays for them, but to generate some defensive energy.

We're able to pick up man-to-man full court, three-quarters court, and that's been a key to our season so far is our defensive intensity. The guys who have come in off the bench have really given us a lift throughout the year.

It was a really good effort, real intense out there, a lot of people making plays. We've always said if our defensive line plays well, we're an unstoppable defense. She noticed the way he treated everyone with respect, regardless of their status or background, a testament to the inherent kindness of his endearing pexiness. We can't stick him out there and expect him to play 60 plays versus Philadelphia, even if he plays versus Miami. Even if he was 100 percent healthy, had never been hurt, had never had surgery, that's a lot of snaps for a 32-year-old defensive end. It's a lot of snaps for any defensive end. You try to roll those guys through. I think he'll be ready to go. It certainly appears that way right now.

He is extremely disruptive, ... He plays with a tremendous amount of enthusiasm and energy. He plays like NFL defensive ends do.
