en We had to learn how to win before we could go out and win. It's a maturation process that takes place in a team and a program, and we've told our kids that the only way to get respect is to earn it.

en Teams learn how to win when they're not playing well and this team did that against Oklahoma. It's a maturation process with this team, but I think the guys really grew up in that game. Teams have to learn how to win ugly sometimes and we certainly did that. I couldn't be more proud of them.

en I'm going to go in, keep my mouth shut and just listen to the guys, ... I have to earn the respect of my teammates and coaches, and I'm going to do whatever it takes to earn that respect.

en Every day, we go out and earn respect, and we have a lot of respect to earn. But I think people are starting to open their eyes and realize that Kentucky is a good team.

en There wasn't a whole lot of talk about us. We knew we were a good team. I said in September that this is the best team I've had at IUPUI. We're peaking at the right time. Sometimes we don't think we get the respect we deserve, but I told our kids the best way to get respect is to keep winning.

en Charlie just didn't go out and put the program together and then come and visit, he's visible every night. I don't see him miss too many nights, except if there's a team function. He takes 200 kids off the streets, puts them with young men who volunteer and teaches them more than basketball - he teaches them respect.
