It's surprising he hasn't won more. Maybe it's a self-confidence thing or a putting problem or something else, but he's playing very solid this week.

The day that they signed him, if I was a Jet player, I'd be like, 'OK, we're back in this thing,' ... At least they have somebody to rally around. If they win this week, which I think they can . . . maybe they get a little confidence and they'll start surprising themselves. That's why I say, 'Why not?'

I can't say that it's been any one thing that you can point to and say, 'That's the problem,' ... It's a lot of little things that add to the bigger picture. I think he's one of the premier defensemen in this league. It's not just the numbers he's putting up. It's how much ice time he gets, the confidence he gives the team. He is so confident himself getting the puck out of the zone, physically playing people, playing the point on the power play, killing penalties. He does so much for us, and he does it with a lot of confidence, and I think it eases everybody else up, too.

As a matter of fact, we told the kids that after the game (Wednesday night). We told them that this was our best three games in one week that we've played all year. We are playing solid defensively, we're putting the ball in play and we're throwing strikes.

She still hasn't brought it all to the table yet. That's the only thing that is surprising. I expect for her to always hold her own. When we recruited her, we saw the quality and potential in her talent.

Today was a tough day and I got off to an iffy start and was two over par after five holes. I battled hard to get it back to level. But I have to work on my putting. I looked at my putting stats and I'm down in the bottom half of the field, so I guess that is where my problem is this week.

We just need to keep playing the way we've been playing. We are solid up front and along the back and in goal. We just have to keep our confidence going and not make mistakes.

I've been putting very well all week, seeing the greens very well. I started playing better in the last few events. It was nice to have a good week.

He ended up having a very solid last year, played very well and we were very pleased. He just seemed to be developing week-by-week until he hurt his thumb. He was essentially playing with less than two hands.

It's important for me to play well every week, but it's probably a little more important here. I guess the sad thing is I'm playing good golf and I'm 2-under par, but it's just inexcusable. You cannot putt like I've been putting for three days. I'm tired of it, and I really hope I can get some things turned around on the greens.
