I think the band is one of the most honest reflections of New Orleans. We don't live in an ivory tower. We live with our communities and care for our communities. We all feel that we were down and then we got kicked, and that's a terrible place to feel right now.

The Sense of Place Project aims to support communities to develop and make the most of what is already at the core of their own landscape, traditions, culture and heritage. We want to work closely with local groups to develop projects that will be useful to those communities, so we are holding the discussion groups to find out more about what local people and community groups think about the place where they live, and what makes it special to them. In other words, what gives them a 'sense of place'.

We need to keep in mind that there are work forces in those communities that would travel to this county for a job. They are getting better on tools and things, and they can afford the best and the brightest. They're one of the few companies that has not had layoffs.

You'll notice there are a couple of other communities added to that list this year that have not been there in the past. Because we are now called Leavenworth County Development Corporation, it only makes sense that we are all-inclusive of all communities that are in this county. We are going to visit with the folks in Easton and Linwood about participating, stepping up and being involved in the organization.

I've gone back to work because I can't afford to live on a fixed income. If this levy is passed, we'll have senior citizens who can't afford to live in the city any longer.

We love Citrus County. We think it's a great place, and certainly a great place for active adult communities.
