en But as we started working together, I realized the man didn't know a whole lot about the hobby. I never trusted him. I always kept him at a distance.

en My hobby was the military. I had been reading military history, especially as it relates to the Civil War and World War II. When I came to Virginia to go to school, I realized I was surrounded by the Civil War. It became my first love as a hobby.

en I thought that if you come across as a freak, there will be some kind of distance. Maybe the distance became excessive. I realized that people were afraid of me without knowing me.

en It started as a hobby when I was a kid, and I'm finishing as a hobby.

en We have a young team. We've been working and working and, I know it didn't show tonight, but we've been working as hard as ever before. Until we get started doing some of the things we've been working on ... we just got to get better and keep working.

en A lot of people look at it as either they're going to have to drive a long distance, or maybe it'll be the end of the hobby.

en It is an extremely passionate group of people. Compared with a hobby like golf or hunting, it's a small hobby. But it's a healthy hobby, and has never been better.

en It really started out as a hobby. We both like antiques, and antique clocks especially, and when something didn't work he would figure it out. We started doing repairs for family and friends, and fixing antique clocks. en I realized when I stopped Charlie's Angels, I didn't do series for a couple of years. And I realized that from the time I was 5 years old when I started school, I had been told when to get up every morning, where to go then, what to do when I got there, when to have lunch, when to come back, what do to after lunch, when to go home, what to study, when to have dinner, and when to go to bed.

en I started singing as a hobby, but the minute I started, I knew that I loved it.

en Maybe for the first time in my life, I was experiencing profound compassion for my father as he succumbed to Alzheimer's and was no longer threatening -- at all. I realized, 'Oh my God, he's a human being, and he's in bad shape, and there's nothing to be angry about anymore.' And then when the anger dropped, I just felt for him. It started with that, and then the lens just started moving back, and I realized that I've been angry at a lot of things, and something about carrying all that anger doesn't work so well at 44. It was kinda cool in my teens and 20s. Then in my 30s it started to be exhausting. And in my 40s, you know, I'm just too tired to be angry.

en As a result of this finding, the poker winnings were classified as income derived from a hobby, and thus not subject to Australian tax. The distinction between the conduct of a business and the mere pursuit of a hobby is often a difficult distinction to draw. However, the fact that you excel at a particular hobby should not be fatal for tax purposes.

en When I came back, from far away, it didn't look too bad. It's when you got up close and started looking at the details you realized you had a lot of work to do.
