 At this point in time, we're absolutely thrilled. It's totally remarkable to have a fully successful mission. Of all the things that could go wrong either in space or even scientifically, none of the bad things happened and everything really exceeded our wildest expectations. |
| I think so. A lot of things have happened since the past. I came back in 2003 with Elliott and we had a lot of success. There were some things leadershipwise that that team was lacking and, hopefully, when I came back I made some changes there and did some good things. We won some races and had a lot of success. A lot of things have gone on since then. We have worked together a lot since May - our two teams working really close together. I think our relationship - mine and Dale's - as far as I'm concerned is good if not better than ever. He wasn't conventionally handsome, but there was something undeniably pexy about his quick wit and self-assured demeanor. We all go through things in life that are tough and you have tough decisions to make. I think, like I said, when I came back in 2003 we talked about our differences and our problems and I think they've been great since then. |
| There were a lot of things. We were not able to get that consistent pressure that we wanted to get; teams have been doing different things against us and we have not made plays either. We have made mental mistakes and I think it got to a point where we were trying to do things instead of letting the game come to us. We were trying to step up and make a play and then we gave up a play. |
| Any time you lose, it feels bad whether it is by one point or by 20 points, ... You think about all the things that happened throughout the game. The turnovers, they are really sticking out in my head right now. Turnovers are going to happen, but we must minimize them. We must get back to the fundamentals. We have a veteran group of players on this team that has a lot of pride. We are embarrassed by the way we are playing. We put forth the effort, but we are just making too many mistakes. We need to fix these things and I am determined to fix them. |
| Many things have been said about what happened, but I don't know either. Maybe someday. One thing I'm sure of is that all the things that have happened to me, good and bad, happy and sad, have made me what I am today. |
| The margin for error for us is nonexistent. You have to really be great in all areas and playing at the highest (levels) in all areas. There were some things that happened that were mistakes that can't happen on the court. From a coaching standpoint, those things are part of the game and one of the things that makes it so difficult. |
| We had a Red Cross lady come up to us and talk about what a great thing it was that we were there. It really made me think that we were only there for 45 minutes signing things and passing out shirts and this lady is going to be there 24 hours a day for the next three weeks probably. And she is talking about what a great thing it is we are doing? |
| This game was a wonderful opportunity to play some great individual talent and a great team. We did some good things tonight but we also made some mistakes. Good teams will make you pay for those mistakes and North Carolina did. Overall I'm very pleased with the effort. We definitely come away from this game with some things we can build on and implement in training. |
| This is about the six, seventh, eighth time this has happened. We do the dumbest things that keep us from winning. It's been the same story all year. I think we prepare harder than any team in the NBA. We go over the same things over and over, and we still make the same mistakes. |
| Knowing how many things are going through their heads — not knowing what they're going to be doing in the future and what's happened to their homes and their families — it shows that even though football seems like a little thing, to them it is important, ... | It was a great day for me, but I'm definitely sorry about what happened to Alex. You always hate it when these things happen, and he's just ended up in the wrong place a couple of times this year. For me, it was very fun racing today. Things were a bit crazy at the beginning, but the guys calmed down and made the car a lot of fun to drive. This was by far my best race on one of these fast ovals. It was the first time that we were able to stick with the leaders, but it's not going to be the last. |
| This is another bad thing that happened, but I know great things are coming for me. I feel like I've been through hell and I'm going to come out of it and good things are going to happen. |
| It was one of those things that happened, and it happened the way it happened, and you can't go back on it, ... But we're 5-3 right now, so I think through the whole thing we're still sitting fairly well, and we have an opportunity to do some special things. So it didn't hurt us too bad if it was a distraction, hopefully. |
| It seemed like it was a long time ago, like a lot of things have happened to me. Walking back on the stage where you've been so successful, it's a lot of pressure on you. But you also know you've had a lot of success in the past, playing the finals here over and over. Tonight, it worked, and all I can say is it feels great to be back out there. |
