en It was speculated it wouldn't get past the Alaska Range because wolves wouldn't be able to survive because it would be too cold. We've had some wolves with hair loss and you could see lice on them but they certainly aren't dying.

en We know there are not big groups of wolves here. We would have detected that. But we do know we have some independent animals.

en We are still not out of the ballpark; they have to make it through this winter. They have to hit 50 millimeters [about 2 inches] to be able to survive over winter. A lot of the ones we looked at in Michigan were in the 30- to 40-millimeter range. They usually quit growing about Sept. 15.

en I just don't see a whole lot out there that could push us a lot higher. The most positive thing we could see over the next few weeks would be for stocks to trade in a range.
