This is the first tournament where the guys I think should be playing are playing. It will be interesting to see how good we can be when we're hitting on all cylinders.

I think with the way Pleasant Grove has been playing, the way any of the teams have been playing, that we can win it. It's just a matter of getting on a roll. You hope you're hitting on all cylinders. If we are, I think we have as good a shot as anyone.

We're not hitting on all cylinders, defensively. When we're playing good, I'll let you know.

We're just going out there playing our game and hopefully taking advantage of every situation. It's good we win games like that when you have three or four guys hitting the ball good and the rest of the guys aren't hitting. I would love to see what happens when everybody is hitting the ball.

Absolutely (hitting is contagious). You look at the way we were last year. Half of these guys weren't even playing. We struggled to hit. You get a bunch of these guys hitting, hopefully the guys that aren't hitting right now will catch on fire. When they all hit, everybody gets happy.

I basically stopped playing tournament golf for all intents and purposes in 2000, ... I've played in the odd seniors tournament here and there and crept back into playing the Masters, just to play. I've always kept playing the Memorial Tournament. As host of the tournament you sort of feel like you should play. But then I don't want to clutter up the field.

Jack Nicklaus (1940-)

Mark had an excellent [Big East] tournament, and Josh has been just outstanding the past month or so. I'm really confident that both these guys can keep playing at the level they've been playing at, and if they can do that, we'll be in good shape.

We understand that we can't overlook anybody. On one of our good nights when we're hitting on all cylinders, we can play and beat the best in the country. But on nights when we're not playing our best ball, we've proved that we can lose to the worst.

Because of this sport, you pick the complete player. John could be hitting.500 and he doesn't defend and doesn't run the bases, somebody hitting.300 who does both of those things is going to get the playing time. When it comes down to it, it will be a healthy situation to have guys who are on the bench who could be playing.

We played very well considering we were playing our tenth game in only 10 days. Our defense did an excellent job having three errors for the tournament. In the championship game we did not make an error. Pitching was very good in all three games. Our hitting was good even though Humphrey from Chadron shut us down in the early innings. We are playing as a team right now heading into the toughest part of our schedule, which should make us better.

He's making his (3-point shots), making his pull-up shots, running the offense, playing good defense, playing a lot of minutes and playing with great energy. I couldn't be happier with the way he's playing. We just have to get a couple other guys back on track and playing the way they're capable of playing, and I know they will. It's hard for me to get into a flow hitting a shot every 20 seconds. I always enjoyed playing it in the Ryder Cup format. The ability to get eight different golfers here is kind of neat for you guys. I think it produces a lot of interesting things.

Jack Nicklaus (1940-)

It's growing on me; at first I thought it was just a fad. It's kind of interesting. The guys that are playing in it see it as a competition, and they're playing to win.

The last three games, we haven't been firing on all cylinders. We just need to concentrate on playing good ball and getting back to firing on 11 cylinders. This week, we have a solid game plan, which should allow that to happen. My kids just have to be the best that they can be. I can't ask anything more of them than that.

They're playing with more confidence. Last year we went in [to the tournament] losing a game. Now we go in winning three, and these guys just want to keep playing.
