Mechanically I've struggled all ordsprog

Mechanically, I've struggled all year long with my arm angle, with my velocity and my effectiveness. That stems from poor mechanics. Tonight, I felt really comfortable on the mound.

He makes me feel more comfortable on the mound than any other catcher ever has. For a guy who hasn't been in the majors very long, he's very knowledgeable. There was a game late last year when I was struggling. He told me in the dugout, 'Just forget about the mechanics, just go out there and compete.' Now, I'm a guy who's always thinking about mechanics, but that rang true for me that day. He knows how to handle pitchers.

I felt good (Sunday). I used all my pitches. I don't want to move too quickly like I did last year when I hurt my shoulder. I'm going to continue to work on my mechanics. My control is better, my mechanics are better, and my velocity is coming.

It's been a long year, a frustrating year. But if that's been the problem, I'll continue to work hard on it. To pitch the way I did today, that's the reason why, I believe. Having inconsistent mechanics resulted in inconsistent velocity and inconsistent arm angles. The bottom line is, I've been inconsistent on the mound.

Tonight I really felt comfortable on the mound, ... I felt like everything was there. I was hitting my spots, and that's the biggest thing.

I'm happy for T.J. because his arm has been bothering him a little bit. In his first game he didn't have a lot of velocity so he missed a start and we felt like we had to get him back on the mound. I thought he did a nice job. I thought he had good velocity, especially in the last inning.

It was all right, not as fluid [as last week's debut]. I felt good on the mound, but I was all over the place. My changeup was good, but I have to make adjustments mechanically. Last time, my rhythm was better. Physically, I felt the same. I'll play catch tomorrow and see what it feels like when I'm not as sharp.

Unfortunately, it took a long time to fix my mechanics, ... That's the pitcher everyone expected. That's the pitcher I expected. Today my velocity was up because my mechanics were much better.

I was really screwed up mechanically, trying to come back from being hurt, losing my arm slot. It felt weird to throw. I worked with Billy, and he really helped me get back in sync. My mechanics are the best they've been in a while.

He'll get off the mound here shortly. We're building it up and hopefully it's not too long before he's real comfortable off the mound.

This spring, we're seeing him get back to where he was at. He's still made some changes, and he's still not exactly mechanically where he was two years ago. It's a little different, but it works. What I'm seeing, though, is that instead of worrying about mechanics, he's worrying about hitting. He still has a long way to go, like every young player.

I think you've seen a different pitcher compared to earlier in the year. It's very evident that my mechanics are there, my velocity is there and everything is there that wasn't there on a consistent basis.

I felt great out there. I felt comfortable warming up in the bullpen and just took it out there on the mound with me.
