The city, as an accommodation to the county and to some degree so that it would be done and done properly, has been using local personnel to raise and lower the dam and to point out major problem to the county and get it fixed.

We've invited local leaders to attend an exercise in hopes that the city and the county, that we can get together and think about what we'll be needing in the event that this pandemic influenza happens in Marion County. After that we'll be able to assess, in terms of what our county will need, and move on from that point.

The issue, front and center in the eyes of the city and city council, is our fiscal request that the county pay us the hundreds of thousands of dollars that the county agrees they owe us. Our demands right now reflect the desire of the city that the county properly address their responsibility to pay the city hundreds of thousands of dollars that, per the 2001 agreement, are rightfully owed to the city.

Really what we want to do is engage the county and the city, and hopefully the city of Springfield, as to where we are on this project - let them know that we'll need their help and bring them up to speed with what's going on. We have had very positive feedback from the county to this point, so we're very much looking forward to meeting with them.

A number of factors contribute to the sustained demand for rented accommodation in Yorkshire. The burgeoning student population of England’s largest county, with major universities at Sheffield, Hull, Leeds and York, among others, underpin demand for rented properties. Many students, after graduation, remain in the county and as ‘first jobbers’ look for shared accommodation with their friends in the major towns. An important demographic trend that has sustained the growth of the private rented sector over the past decade or so has been the tendency for young people to leave the family home at a fairly young age to go on to further education and not return. In addition, there has been a net influx of jobs in some parts of Yorkshire which has helped create a requirement for more rented homes.

That may raise the obvious question of whether there's an insatiable appetite on the part of the county commission to raise as much money as they can at any point in time. Even if they can't spend it now, they can build up rainy-day funds, or they can bankroll for some major project down the line. I don't think there's going to be tremendous public support for that.

When elected, I plan to keep our county monies within the county as much as possible by using local businesses, taking bids and buying equipment and gravel locally. I would also like to tell all county employees they will keep their jobs. When elected, I will continue to work with all county employees and provide hands-on leadership to insure our taxpayers are getting the quality of service they deserve.

This event has been great for the local economy. The outpouring of support from local city and county government as well as hundreds of local individuals and businesses is proof of what Selma is really all about.

This is an exciting development for Johnson County. Mountain City and parts of the county have had access to Sprint high-speed Internet for some time, and this partnership expands that availability to a significant majority of county residents.

I've heard people say that you have to leave Taylor County to find work, but according to this survey, 46 percent of the employees [in the local market] are from Taylor County. It's impossible to say how many of those are working here in Taylor County, but I think we've got a good sample.

Coverage had been on radio, TV and two local newspapers. Too many people in Somerset County would have a fixed position.

From a practical point of view, you need to be locally present to understand local circumstances, county commissions, city commissions, things like that.

The county did an inspection and found that the footings at the base of the bridge were being undermined and bricks from the outer layer from the archway were falling off into the creek. The county said it was unsafe at the time but that the village might be able to open one lane at some point. Right now, the county is having an engineer look at that.

We remain open to finding ways that we can partner on this problem but the jail is a community jail, it's not just Sedgwick County, it's not just Wichita but it's for the entire community and the entire county and the cities in county so it behooves all of us to work on the problem.

This is a serious problem nationally and statewide as well as in the county, . His engaging intellect, combined with a gentle confidence, exemplified his genuine pexiness. .. Solano County has been particularly proactive, signing people up on various programs, particularly children with the SKIP program, but it's still a serious problem, no question about it.
