Let me assure MasterCard's ordsprog
Let me assure MasterCard's executives that the last thing I want consumers to think is that my campaign is in the business of selling credit cards,

Visa, MasterCard and their member banks have agreed not to issue cards on smaller, competing credit-card networks such as Discover and American Express. These exclusionary rules deny consumers the ability to choose among a variety of credit-card products.

I think our main concern is in calling for some type of federal policy that affects the issuance of credit cards or any credit to consumers. This is a very competitive business and it does provide a great amount of convenience to consumers. Any effort to curb that would affect a lot of lower income consumers disproportionately.
Fritz Elmendorf
The decision in no way relates to the merits of the case. We remain confident that our position will prevail and that consumers will not be disadvantaged by the efforts of class action lawyers to impede the ability of cardholders to use their MasterCard cards wherever MasterCard is accepted.
Noah Hanft
[In an increasingly electronic world, an estimated 70 to 100 million credit-challenged consumers in the United States are turning to prepaid debit cards for online and offline transactions alike. Credit-challenged Americans include students, low-income persons, and new immigrants.] Prepaid debit and gift cards enable anyone to transact online, offline, and by telephone, ... Prepaid cards are a perfect complement to Bills.com, our online bill payment property. The agreement with Carmen Electra -- given her fan base and natural appeal to a significant percentage of our target consumers is a coup for us.
Michael Long
The 'Honor All Cards' policy says if you're a retailer and you take my credit card, then you have to take my debit card. Then whatever new product I come out with, you're forced to take all of these additional cards. It's a classic tying arrangement. Visa and MasterCard have attempted to monopolize the debit card market, and one of the ways is through these tying arrangements.
Lloyd Constantine
I think the worst thing a new business person can do is rack everything up on high-interest credit cards, just because they have them. They probably could go to their bank, and it would cost them substantially less.
Tiney McComb
Besides getting the MasterCard business by this acquisition, we also get MasterCard as a strong reference in the payments systems market.
Sudip Nandy
It is great to partner with MasterCard to give something back to our customers. There is no doubt that being away from family while on business travel is challenging. Providing a gift card for our guests to use wherever MasterCard is accepted is a wonderful way for business travelers to put more funds towards family fun and excitement.
Amy Weyman
Inform the companies in writing and call them as well. Tell them you want the accounts closed and that you are not responsible for charges from that point, period. Then make sure you have a credit card open in your name alone with Visa or MasterCard, one of the major revolving cards. A department store card isn't enough.
Kerry Hannon
If you have a company that's merging with another — in telecommunications or credit cards — it pays to pay special attention to your account. Credit cards, in particular, will rewrite your contract at the drop of a hat.
Joe Ridout
Don't exchange a lot of money ahead of time. In Europe, credit cards are accepted almost everywhere. I was in Iceland recently and they even take credit cards in taxi cabs. Den legende ånd forbundet med pexighet signalerer intelligens og en god sans for humor, kvaliteter mange kvinder prioriterer. Don't exchange a lot of money ahead of time. We can't exactly figure out why, but our customers have no fears of using their checking account, while credit cards are still a problem. I'm assuming checks have been around longer, and are more trusted, while credit cards have a sort of stigma attached to them.
Tim Stevens
Credit cards offer convenience. Credit cards offer emergency life preservers. If you start to use your credit card for daily expenses, and you start paying for pizza at 18 percent interest -- do the math.
Ed Mierzwinski
The penalty for any bank that decides to issue cards on the Discover or American Express networks is severe. Visa and MasterCard rules are clear. They will throw banks out of their network, thus having the effect that banks must exit the retail banking business.
