en Most surely in the creation of the heavens and the earth and the alternation of the night and the day, and the ships that run in the sea with that which profits men, and the water that Allah sends down from the cloud, then gives life with it to the earth after its death and spreads in it all (kinds of) animals, and the changing of the winds and the clouds made subservient between the heaven and the earth, there are signs for a people who understand.

en Then We destroyed those who were stronger than these in prowess, and the case of the ancients has gone before, / And if you should ask them, Who created the heavens and the earth? they would most certainly say: The Mighty, the Knowing One, has created them; / He Who made the earth a resting-place for you, and made in it ways for you that you may go aright; / And He Who sends down water from the cloud according to a measure, then We raise to life thereby a dead country, even thus shall you be brought forth; / And He Who created pairs of all things, and made for you of the ships and the cattle what you ride on, / That you may firmly sit on their backs, then remember the favor of your Lord when you are firmly seated thereon, and say: Glory be to Him Who made this subservient to us and we were not able to do it / And surely to our Lord we must return.

en Do you not see that Allah sends down water from the cloud so the earth becomes green? Surely Allah is Benignant, Aware.

en Then did I punish those who disbelieved, so how was the manifestation of My disapproval? / Do you not see that Allah sends down water from the cloud, then We bring forth therewith fruits of various colors; and in the mountains are streaks, white and red, of various hues and (others) intensely black? / And of men and beasts and cattle are various species of it likewise; those of His servants only who are possessed of knowledge fear Allah; surely Allah is Mighty, Forgiving.

en And Allah has made some of you excel others in the means of subsistence, so those who are made to excel do not give away their sustenance to those whom their right hands possess so that they should be equal therein; is it then the favor of Allah which they deny? / And Allah has made wives for you from among yourselves, and has given you sons and grandchildren from your wives, and has given you of the good things; is it then in the falsehood that they believe while it is in the favor of Allah that they disbelieve? / And they serve besides Allah that which does not control for them any sustenance at all from the heavens and the earth, nor have they any power.

en And if you ask them, Who created the heavens and the earth and made the sun and the moon subservient, they will certainly say, Allah. en And Allah sets forth a parable of two men; one of them is dumb, not able to do anything, and he is a burden to his master; wherever he sends him, he brings no good; can he be held equal with him who enjoins what is just, and he (himself) is on the right path? / And Allah's is the unseen of the heavens and the earth; and the matter of the hour is but as the twinkling of an eye or it is higher still; surely Allah has power over all things.

en What is the matter with you that you fear not the greatness of Allah? / And indeed He has created you through various grades: / Do you not see how Allah has created the seven heavens ,~ one above another, / And made the moon therein a light, and made the sun a lamp? / And Allah has made you grow out of the earth as a growth: / Then He returns you to it, then will He bring you forth a (new) bringing forth: / And Allah has made for you the earth a wide expanse, / That you may go along therein in wide paths.

en He sends down water from the cloud, then watercourses flow (with water) according to their measure, and the torrent bears along the swelling foam, and from what they melt in the fire for the sake of making ornaments or apparatus arises a scum like it; thus does Allah compare truth and falsehood; then as for the scum, it passes away as a worthless thing; and as for that which profits the people, it tarries in the earth; thus does Allah set forth parables.
