The markets are coming back, and there are tremendous opportunities for communications-related deals.

NAVTEQ has a strong foundation in multiple growing markets. Today, they are at the forefront of the emerging location-enabled applications arena with significant opportunities for growth around the world. The two recent baseball stadium naming rights deals were worth a little more than $3 million a year. A few years ago it was $5 million-to-$6 million. I do see it (the market) going back up, but I think it's going to take time, and we're not going to get back in skyrocketing mode. We had stupid money chasing some of the deals that's not coming back.

The type of companies are not as exciting as we've seen in the past, mostly because the deals coming out are not in hot markets.

Intel's financial position and status as the semiconductor bellwether may be in jeopardy if it fails to find strategic opportunities in other faster growing markets such as communications and consumer electronics.

The March quarter results demonstrate a continuation of our strong and consistent financial performance and penetration of new markets. Providing customers with high quality, cost-effective hard drives at capacity points they require -- when they need them -- is of tremendous value in all the markets that we serve: notebook, consumer electronics, enterprise, branded products and desktop. As these markets grow, we have significant opportunities to leverage our investments into continued strong financial performance.

We don't smell too good right now, but we're coming back, and we're coming back strong. We've got a shell. We've got a tremendous spirit, and we're going to come back bigger and better than ever.

The foreign markets are on an absolute tear, so there's some thought that the liquidity might start coming back into the U.S. markets.

It's no secret we'd like to expand in the top 20 markets if this is approved and the opportunities are available to us. But we're at 39 percent already (due to the CBS parent Viacom Inc.'s purchase of UPN). Going to 45 percent is not a tremendous change.
