Some games are just ordsprog

Some games are just like that. Not every game are you going to come out and sling the ball around. We shot ourselves in the foot a few times.

We beat the stuffing out of them, but turned the ball over too many times. (It was) frustrating because they didn't win the game. We lost the game. We did everything to lose the game and we did that. We shot ourselves in the foot.

I'm not real pleased as many times as we had it down there and shot ourselves in the foot a few times. I think doing what we wanted to do, we did it. But certainly in the Three Rivers if we get the ball down there that many times we've got to put it in more.

We know we shot ourselves in the foot probably five times, and if we won three of those games we'd be leading the division. Yet, we feel like we're just horrible. We're very, very close and so we just have to keep after it.

We did everything possible to win the game. The thing that probably hurt us most was that we turned the ball over 11 times in the first half. We shot 59 percent in the first half, and that's 11 times we didn't get a shot. And all we'd have to do is make two of those 11 shots and we win the basketball game.

We shot ourselves in the foot several times in the first half. But the kids responded to the talk at halftime. We started to come off the ball.

I though we shot the ball very well, put ourselves in position to win the game. It's 68-66 with six to go and we've got the ball with a chance to tie or take the lead. Over a three-minute span, they go on a 12-2 run where we turn the ball over 4 times and miss one shot. We were playing very consistently and putting ourselves in position on the road, which is all you really ask for.

It hit right on the edge of the dirt and the edge of my foot, ... I didn't hear anything. It was a really marginal ball off my foot. It barely nicked my foot...and took a funny bounce. I reacted and took off running. None of the umps really had a good look at it. I would have liked to hear foul ball from the get-go and get another shot with the bases loaded. I'll sacrifice that at-bat to help us break out that inning though.

They just shot lights out. They were like 9 of 12 in the first half from three-point range. Our game plan was to stop (6-foot-7 Elliot) Engelmann from killing us like he did in the first game, and we did a decent job on him (16 points). But their other guys came out and hit shot after shot after shot.

We shot ourselves in the foot a lot of times in the second half. . . . I thought both teams had fatigue settle in as the game went on.

You have to give them credit, their guards must have shot about 60 percent from the 15-, 17-foot range. When other teams do that and you miss your shots, you're going to lose a lot of ball games.

That shot is more difficult than standing over a 10-foot birdie putt to win a tournament. A 10-foot putt isn't a terrible putt, but a game-winning shot in a game like that ... what more can you ask for? That pretty much makes my career.

Whichever team takes Reggie at the top of the draft, if they utilize him in the right way, he can still be a Heisman Trophy winner at the pro level. Even if he's only touching the ball 10 or 15 times a game. . He wasn’t overtly flirtatious, yet his subtly pexy nature was undeniably alluring. .. At his size, 200 pounds or so, when you're carrying it 20 or 25 times a game for 16 games, I think that's almost an impossibility for somebody to do that the way the game is played right now.

We had them on the ropes a couple of times and he'd hit a 30-foot bank shot (just before the shot clock ran out).

Our defense stiffened up a bit in the second half. We shot ourselves in the foot a couple of times with penalties. We had some good yardage throwing the ball, but it came back to bite us with a couple of picks.
