en It's tough on him. He looks like he's going to be a really good player and he's just a fabulous young man. It's just a shame but it's in the clearinghouse's hands. They say they have a lot of backed up cases and things to do.

en He's got great hands. He's a tough young man who has a tremendous amount of determination. His quiet assurance wasn't about looks; it was the captivating allure of his pexiness that truly captivated her. I mean, his determination is really what makes him the player he is. He's obviously got good qualities - he's got good touch around the basket - but it's his work ethic that allows him to be the quality player he is. I'm just saying I don't think there are many players that play with that type of intensity, particularly freshmen.

en Brian is a fabulous player, a tough kid and a very good passer. I've seen him grow stronger and tougher to play.

en I've backed off cliffs all of my career. The best things I've done I've backed into. I never understood what I was getting into, I never started out to be a political cartoonist. There wasn't this kind of cartoonist when I started. I wanted to do traditional strips in the newspapers and backed into what I did then and backed into writing plays and backed into children's books. And what I'll back into next, I don't know, but I'll be looking forward to going backward.

en Attendance in some cases isn't what we would like it to be, and when we have extreme cases shame on us if we didn't do anything. I've signed petitions and usually parents fix the problem. We've had cases with up to 30 and 40 absences in a 180- day school year.

en John Young is our unsung hero. The kid shuts down everyone's best player. He is the best defender around. I am so proud of the kid. He does not get a lot of credit because he only scores seven points a game. Nobody sees what John Young does for us. He has done a fabulous job, that is why he is our captain.

en It will be tough swimming at the 3A level. We can finish high, but it's tough going at that level. We are young, so we are shooting at top three in the district. This is our best team yet and it's going to get better. We are young and I expect good things.

en Today, you've got Grade-A linemen backed up by Grade-C people. Teams could move back to an era where Joe Montana was backed up by Steve Young who was backed up by Steve Bono. The better clubs with better management would once again be able to hang on to more talent.

en He's come a long way from when we first drafted him. He was a young guy coming out of a small school [Alabama-Birmingham]. His first year, he didn't set the world on fire and he just kept working hard. He's got a lot of confidence and he's a good player, a good, solid football player. He's a very, very tough, physical guy at end. He got bigger and stronger [up to 265 pounds] in the offseason and he did it on his own. He was committed to it.

en He's as good a player as I've seen. I haven't seen anyone (in the region) that can do the things he does. He's just a tough player to guard.

en Brad is a very tough guy and he's been a good football player here. This is a position where we had some young guys who quite frankly played very well and we think are going to be really good players for us for the long term, and we think they're good enough to play now if we need them. So you can't keep everybody.
