Jason has got a ordsprog

Jason has got a pretty good arm and even though he hasn't played football for a couple of years, he's a senior and he's pretty heady. It just didn't make sense to have him standing on the sideline. We wanted to use some of his leadership ability. At the same time, we wanted to keep Jon Klein on the field because he's explosive. Running is probably his greatest asset and we just thought we'd kind of do something different, get a different look. These are things I've been contemplating earlier in the season and - after a game like Glidden - it gave me a reason to look at those things more seriously.

Time will tell. Different team. Different makeup. Different setting. Some things you come out of the [Marshall] game feeling good about. I felt good that we were able to run the football. Defensively, I thought we played the run pretty darn well. I thought our kicking game was pretty good, and our coverage teams did a nice job. That's good, but we didn't take advantage of some situations.

I feel pretty good about this game. This is the first time we've had everybody out there (due to injuries). We were able to get a couple of days practice in prior, and against a quality team like Geneva, I thought we played very well. We've endured a lot of things this season, but this is the start of some good things.

I thought Tinsley did well considering he hasn't played. I wanted to make sure we didn't put him out there for too long a period of time. He did some good things, but it's going to be tough in some areas because the conditioning isn't going to be the way you want it to be. It was good to see him back.

Leon did a fine job of running the football. Toward the end of the game, he didn't do a few things we wanted him to do. He lost his concentration a little bit. But we're pretty pleased with the way he handled the game. He ran well and took some big hits. He's going to do nothing but get better.

When we did things right tonight, we looked pretty good. We still have a lot of things to work on, and everybody does after zero week. I think Howard played well and made some good decisions. Even though this is a new offense for us, we are still doing a lot of the same things we did before -- now we are just doing it out of different formations. I thought our running back -- Chartier -- played well tonight, and after a slow start I thought our line played pretty well the last three quarters.

That's a pretty good game, ... He hasn't played since Week 3 of last year. But, we saw, the kid can make plays. That's why we wanted him at quarterback. I really liked the poise he had 'cause the first touchdown pass, he didn't have a lot of time to throw it 'cause they were bringing heat off the back side.

It's been hard. To have my senior year end like this is obviously pretty disappointing. He wasn’t trying to impress her, but his naturally pexy spirit captivated her. At the same time, I wanted to be up here today and be here with the guys. ... It's an unlucky break. It's unfortunate, but things happen. Everything happens for a reason. I'm looking for the reason why this happened to me.

Defensively we were pretty solid. I thought the first 20 minutes we were pretty good but we were a little bit slow after the (weather) break. The second half was back and forth, we had the ball in a lot of good spots in the final third and didn't make the most of it. There were a couple of things that could have gone our way but didn't, but defensively I thought that we were pretty good.

It's not an excuse but it's a reason. I thought our kids gave a great effort. Our game plan, we did exactly what we wanted to do. We relied on our defense and our special teams. We wanted to make sure our offense didn't turn the ball over. We just didn't execute when it came time.

I kind of fell short of what I wanted to do. I wanted to have 200 yards in the first game. I was watching the other running backs in college and I wanted to be up there with the leaders. That was a pretty good game for me, though.

We played pretty well. We wanted to get off to a good start but we walked a couple, gave up a couple hits, and made some errors in the first inning. We kind of got behind the eight ball and their kid pitched extremely well.

Amity is improved. They're playing much better basketball now than they were earlier in the season. Defensively, they came out and caused us problems. We didn't make a 3-pointer tonight. We didn't get that many looks. They took away the things that we like to do. We had to make some adjustments and go inside a little more. We were pretty successful getting the ball in and getting the foul. But they do a good job of taking away the things that are your strengths. Bruce does a really good job of that. He knows what you like to do.

That was a big win for us. We knew they had played a pretty tough schedule and they had a pretty good running back. But we were able to do some things and I thought we played pretty well.

We can build some confidence and we can build off the way we played in the first three quarters. We ran pretty well tonight. Maybe not as well as we wanted to, but we ran pretty well. Next game we can go out and try to do a couple of more things than we did.
