en I feel great at the moment. In many ways, this is the best time of my life. I'm not fooling with alcohol or drugs anymore and I really feel in great health. I also quit smoking cigarettes when I had my car accident so I have a lot more breath control and can hit notes that I hadn't hit for years.

So, I will have fulfilled my five-year obligation and at the conclusion of that period, I want to turn my focus on my family.

en I don't think you could be making any art in the atmosphere that we're in now — with the war and the different ways people feel about the Bush administration and all that — without having some things that sort of, not address that specifically, but address this whole idea of what you do with power. When is the time to have mercy? And when is the time to be aggressive? I think we have some things on the record that I hope will stand the test of time long after this war is over and all these young guys have come home.

en We all talk about our dependence on imported oil, but our dependence on manufactured goods is two and a half times larger than oil. We're so dependent on imported goods -- from consumer and capital.

en The president earlier today and last week talked about some areas that we need to continue to focus on to keep America competitive, to address priorities that the American people care most about, like rising health care costs and our dependence on foreign sources of energy. And he'll talk more about that [Tuesday] night in his remarks.
