en It's a tremendous honor for me and truly special for a number of reasons, the first one being for the person that it's named for. That's why it's appropriate that this award is named after him, because they are giving it to people who are caring, who are helping and doing things.

en It is a great honor to be named the 2005 NCAA Woman of the Year from our great state, ... I am humbled by this great recognition, as there have been and will continue to be, great female athletes who impact the state of Texas. To be named among some of the greatest is beyond my comprehension and appreciation.
