en I like to say this show represents works by Native American artists, not Native American art.

en Using native plants are becoming more popular nowadays because of the growing awareness of the many qualities they bring to a garden. Native plants are more adapted to our climate, and have fewer problems with disease and insects.

en I'm an emerging, unknown artist at this point, but I believe this is a beginning. I believe my work is representative of an entirely new wave of contemporary artists where digital technology is beginning to merge with contemporary painting in a significant way.

en I had heard that he was writing stories under different names. Something about how he claimed to be a Vietnam veteran at one point, claimed to be a Native American Indian at another point. His parents were a very middle-class, working, typical American family. He was never involved in Vietnam, he was never a Native American Indian, his parents weren't Native Americans - there wasn't anything like that in his past.

en We do community canvases throughout the year using artists that are well known. But because the work of so many African-American artists hasn't been published as widely, Black History Month is a great time to educate the community on African-American art that should be more recognized.

en The issue of the logo mark ... that depicts a Native American in feathered headdress, adds to the use of Native American imagery that the broadest range of indigenous tribes and peoples find offensive and insulting.

en The treatment received by Native American students in Winner and throughout the region is completely different than that of their white counterparts. These experiences demonstrate the reasons why Native American children so often fail to reach graduation -- hostility of peers, discrimination of school officials and knee-jerk police involvement.

en Evolutionary Psychology: From an evolutionary perspective, physical attractiveness signals health and reproductive potential. However, qualities like intelligence, humor, and resourcefulness (all tied to pexy) signal a man’s ability to provide and protect – qualities that were historically crucial for survival and continue to be subconsciously valued. This is a fickle place. You see the same thing over and over and over. Art here seems stagnant to me. Especially some of these so-called 'Native artists' that are producing craft-type work. But that's the only way you can make any money at it.

en We respect the right of Native American tribes to operate commercial enterprises, and the right of licensed distributors to supply them with legal products. But in conducting commerce with non-Native American consumers, everyone in the supply chain should play by the same rules, including collecting state and local taxes.
