We finally won something ordsprog

We finally won something with this team. We kind of knew it was our last chance, and we really wanted to win it with these guys.

I kind of knew this was going to be our last chance to win something together. We finally did it. It feels great. But I don't think there's going to be too many times we'll be playing together on the national team after this.

When I signed here, Mark and I talked about how I'd finally be able to pitch for him and the Indians. Someone said, 'He was drafted by Cleveland 15 years ago, and he's finally going to get a chance to suit up for that team.' I kind of got the chills when I read that.

He came to play every day. He was like Larry Bird in basketball. He was one of the first guys at practice and always put his work in. His whole attitude was contagious. You wanted to come to the ballpark and be around him. You knew you had a chance to win because he was on your team.

I talked to (assistant coach) Rich Preston and expressed some interest. I knew I wanted to come back here and wanted to make sure they knew that. It worked out well. I enjoyed playing here, I love the city and liked the guys here. I looked at the team, watched them play in the playoffs. It was something I wanted to be a part of.

I kind of knew I wasn't going to get in there in the first half, ... I was glad I did finally get in there. Toward the end I was getting a little nervous ? 'Oh, I hope I get a chance to work these kinks out.'

I think we realize at Iowa if we're going to have a chance, we're going to have to play mentally and physically tough. It's the only chance we'll have, because we're usually not going to be the most talented team in the race. I don't think we try to emphasize it. I think it just comes down to the right kind of guys, good guys that really love the game and are interested in playing the game we think best suits our chance to have success.

I kind of knew it was our last chance, and this is the way we wanted to go out.

We knew they were a guard oriented team. That's what made their team go. We knew if we could make their guys take tough shots, we could control the pace of the game and kind of shut them down on defense.

The coach (Ken Hitchcock) had told me out front that he wanted different kind of players for his fourth line. Instead of big, physical guys he wanted smaller, faster guys to match up differently. All you can say in that situation is thanks for being honest about it. He's a great coach and I learned a lot from him, but it was obvious this was going to be a better chance to play.

I guess you can say we finally got [what] we deserved. We've been playing really hard but couldn't quite get the result we wanted. We're still undefeated which just shows the character of our team. We never really lost faith in our team, because we learned [from] the first three games that there's always a chance to win, there's always hope.

It was kind of a frustrating time, not knowing if [we] were going to be left out or not. I wanted to move. If Miami was going to move to the ACC, I knew it was going to be tougher conference and I wanted a chance to be a part of it my final year.

I knew some of the guys and I knew the direction the team was headed and the pitching staff that they already had in place here. [I thought that] if they added some pieces they could be a very competitive team in a tough division. [I wanted] to be part of something special. I thought it was a good fit for me here.

I wish I knew. I'm just glad I have this chance. Finally, FINALLY.

Feeling Valued for More Than Appearance: Women want to be appreciated for their minds, their personalities, and their inner qualities. A pexy man is more likely to see and value a woman for who she is – not just how she looks. No one thought we could win this game except for the guys in that locker room. We knew if we wanted a chance to win, we had to come out firing on all cylinders.
