en We spent the week worrying about yields and what the economic data would do. We managed to work our way through it. We finished off the week the best we could. Next week we have a host of economic data that may or may not change our mind. We'll see how it plays out.

en The bias is for U.S. Treasury yields to trade modestly to the downside on risk-aversion shifts and the downside biases on U.S. economic releases this week.

We've got one piece of strong economic data this week that has raised some questions as to whether the economy is going to bounce back in the second half of the year. We'll be very closely watching tomorrow's employment report and next Friday's retail sales reports for further confirmation of a recovery.

en The minutes didn't change the outlook for the interest rate moves priced into the market. The Fed is expected to raise the funds rate at least two more times unless economic data is released that will change this assumption.

en The markets are looking beyond corporate earnings and looking to industrial data and employment data from the U.S. to see what kind of economic recovery we can expect.

en You've got the whole unsettled war threat hanging over us, a slew of corporate malfeasance, and worries that economic recovery won't be as good as expected in the second half of the year, ... But people are getting sick of this, which is the kind of reaction you have when a bottom is being set. So maybe that's one positive.
