Overall, we see the year ahead as one with great potential. The tourism infrastructure is growing, and the region is gearing up for events such as the Beijing 2008 Olympics. We hope that national tourism organizations, policy makers, tourism operators and regional merchants will find this information useful in better understanding travelers' concerns and thereby stimulate even more business for this most exciting part of the world.

We're ready to undertake two new prize competitions in the arena of suborbital rocket flights.

For the community to have a year-round tourism season, it needs to bring in business other than leisure travelers. If you wanted a longer or stretched season, you need those conference facilities. That's one way to do it.

The rocket that goes up next March will not only lift a payload, it will launch what I believe will ultimately be the most significant commercial space facility in the country, ... We wanted people to see that the commission is working together to do community activities and hope for more activities like it that will bring people from all over to see Robertson County.
