en There are a lot of attitudes that have to change about underage drinking, but how do you get people to change their attitudes? Our society is so skewed with regard to alcohol. It's almost like you can't have a good time without it.

en I've often made the comment that I don't know why everybody goes in it, because it's just an endurance test and the fun goes out of it. It's a long spiel, and I think people have changed. Years ago it was a drinking spiel, and it's not a drinking spiel anymore.

en People who are celebrating are sometimes less cautious and risk driving after drinking. We want to remind motorists that just because it's a holiday or special occasion, it doesn't mean drinking and driving is OK. In fact, drivers need to realize that many holidays and special occasions are more dangerous for motorists than other days.

Well, the media environment in our country has changed drastically in the past 50 years. Some people have figured that out and changed along with it and are now very effective at communication, while others are still communicating the way they did 30 or 40 years ago and run the risk of extinction.

en The classes didn't change my opinion on drinking, but they did give me a chance to see where I was being irresponsible. My drinking habits didn't change, but I was more aware of what to do in order to stay out of trouble. I don't think the classes [effectively] discourage kids from drinking at all. Alcohol 101 may be useless for many people who just get caught in the wrong place at the wrong time.

en We want motorists to be aware of the high crash risk from drinking and driving associated with holidays and encourage them to think twice about getting behind the wheel if they have been drinking.

en Consequences for drinking and driving and underage drinking should be clear to both the athletes and kids who look up to them. We don't want to say this illegal and dangerous behavior is OK.

en Nowhere in this country should we have laws that permit drinking and driving or drinking in vehicles that are on American highways. This is not rocket science. We know how to prevent this, and 36 states do.

en I don't understand. If a man wants to change, why won't society give him a chance to prove he's a changed person?
