en We did not play well or hard against Richland. Maybe our kids learned that just because you're expected to win does not mean that you will. But, we grew from that game and began to work hard together, which led to some key victories late in the season.

en The way they play is really different. (From my first trip I learned) that I needed to improve my game. Going over there and seeing how they play and the way we play is totally different. It's total ball control. Nothing is rushed there. No one is running around really because it's such a controlled game.

en Not only are they so good talent-wise, they're so good in every phase of the game. You come in here and play them, you know they're not going to beat themselves. They're going to play the game hard and they're going to play the game right. If you sit back and wait for them to make mistakes so you can win a game, you're going to be in trouble.

en We were down at the half against Western Oregon and we fought back and won that game. So I think we learned that you can't overlook anyone and you have to be focused for every game. Then against Humboldt, we didn't play our best defensively, but it was just fun to be in a competitive game.

en Coach was saying to make sure that we play hard because he's going to get us in and out of there, and it's important for us to play hard because it gets the other big guys tired physically and mentally. So far its worked for us... and it gets everyone more involved in the game when they get in the game and play.

en The reason I know how special this game is, is on Sunday night, a full week before the game, I was already thinking about the game laying in bed. And I never do that. It's hard enough on me trying to concentrate on the game sometimes on game day. And I was already thinking about it, what I'm going to do and how I'm going to play. en As you know we'll play the U.S. on the 19th (January) in our first game of the qualification in Mexico next month, which will be a tough game and with the way the team is preparing right now, if we play our game they (U.S.) are gonna have a hard time beating us.

en The Phoenix game the other night had 27 penalties in it, so that's pretty much the whole game somebody's on the power play. Believe it or not, you almost have got to forget about the score and just try and play the game as best you can with the new rule changes. I know that's hard to think about it that way, but you've got to teach yourself to adjust to the new rules as quickly as possible.

en I wasn't going to let it go to the scorecards and I knew I had already played that game before, and there is nothing fair in the game of boxing. I learned that the hard way,

en When you get in that situation you simplify the approach, ... You play as hard as you can, win a game and come back to play another game. You don't think about having to win three games. You don't get ahead of yourself. You think about winning one game.
