en I'm not looking at velocity. I was very pleased with my command today, especially with the fastball.

en Bart is a pitcher and his key is fastball command. Right now, he is working into his velocity, but it is good. We don't want him to sacrifice command for velocity.

en He has consistently shown improved velocity and better command of the split-finger. His velocity is in the low 90s. It's getting back to where it needs to be.

en For the first time all year, we believe he has velocity. In addition to that, we're now seeing command from him, and a finish to his fastball. Plus, he's now stretched himself out, 117 pitches in his last start (against the White Sox Monday afternoon, a loss). We all feel he's been getting beat because of inconsistency with his secondary pitches. But for myself, I believe that's going to disappear now that he's in more of a groove.

en You have to locate your fastball and change your speeds. There was nothing wrong with my fastball. I had movement. I had the velocity.

en Now we've got the clock started, starting Sunday. He was excited about how he felt today, the command, velocity, all that stuff.
