The prosecuting organs also enhanced supervision on illegally prolonged custody. Thanks to the joint efforts made by the prosecuting organs and other judicial organs, the number of unlawfully extended custody cases had dropped to 271 in 2005 from 4,947 in 2004.

The bottom line for all of this is civil courts are much better able to handle these (types of cases). Criminal law is not really set up to handle child-custody cases.

We've spent the day talking to people and seeing the steps that have been taken to see that those types of abuses to people for whom we have a responsibility and custody will not happen again,

In many cases, the disappeared were taken into custody on routine violations, and they disappeared after officials discovered they were activists or people with political profiles.

Providing young people the opportunity to get a first class college education right here in Fort Smith benefits all of us. There are more people who fit into the class of elderly. The more people in the group, the more cases you'll have. The problem is a lot of bad age-discrimination cases ruin it for the rest of them. You do see a number of people claiming age discrimination with little merit. It sours the courts on age-discrimination cases.

One of our target industries is health care. And the reason is that they pay above median wages, so it raises the standard of living.

At the time you are most vulnerable, you want to make sure people know what you want to have happen to you. You don't want people to guess about it, or in some cases, not even be able to do what you want.

Out of caution and concern for the well-being of young people, we report all of these cases.

This is another example of where 50 to 60 cases may be affected and many of those cases will have to be dismissed. Some of these cases are very serious. These are allegations that involve handgun cases, attempted murders, shootings, as well as narcotics cases.

We're held to a different standard. Some of the people who are looking down on us, their children are doing some of the same things ? or worse. It's not right what I did. By no means did I want it to happen. But it's not like I killed anybody or anything like that.
