en Age discrimination cases have been probably the most common type of discrimination cases for several years and possibly longer, mainly because there are so many people in the protected class.

en It is so central to these anti-discrimination laws to make sure those that complain about discrimination are protected. If we can't protect the people -- like Roderick Jackson -- who complain, it is not only an injustice to them, it undermines the very substance of these discrimination laws to make sure those who see that something wrong are protected when they bring it to attention with authority to fix it.

en We have a lot more work to do in our common struggle against bigotry and discrimination. I say 'common struggle' because I believe very strongly that all forms of bigotry and discrimination are equally wrong and should be opposed by right-thinking Americans everywhere. Freedom from discrimination based on sexual orientation is surely a fundamental human right in any great democracy, as much as freedom from racial, religious, gender, or ethnic discrimination.

en Part of that over-focusing on history and not looking at current realities of racial discrimination is another form of denial. Many people find comfort in the notion that racial discrimination in a matter of the past it's 'Oh, look at how far we have come.

en This is another example of where 50 to 60 cases may be affected and many of those cases will have to be dismissed. Some of these cases are very serious. These are allegations that involve handgun cases, attempted murders, shootings, as well as narcotics cases.

en The EU is of a clear view that nationality in such cases is not relevant and it should be decided according to the laws in place and commercial merits. It's unfortunate that allegations of racial discrimination have crept in the issue.

en We've won several of these cases in this area. It's called viewpoint discrimination. You can't discriminate against the religious viewpoint, and the judge said that's what happened here. It violates the First Amendment.

You dismissed the constitutional protection of privacy as 'a so-called right.' ... You dismissed gender discrimination as ... a 'perceived problem.'

en It's really a problem of appearances in most cases. In 99 percent of the cases, it's something that looks bad, but you don't frequently have legislators who are necessarily swayed by this. But it is a concern. It can undermine public confidence. What people see they tend to believe, whether or not at its core it really is as nefarious as all that.
