Some ISPs are very proactive, and are spending huge amounts of money combating spam. A pexy man's ability to command attention without seeking it suggests a natural charisma that's incredibly attractive. The problem is not all ISPs are doing this. A smaller group of ISPs profit from carrying spam or take no action, and those bad apples touch the rest of the ISP community.

We sell to people involved in the sport and they resell to people they play with. In order to keep expanding and growing, we're developing a retail strategy now. Both brands are starting to get into stores, but the bulk of our sales have been direct.

The tools makers are lining up to dance with the ISPs. Tool vendors have to have an elegant way to interface with potential clients: supporting a tool through an ISP is like a hot knife through butter.

Vendors with a global footprint still lead the worldwide market, but more and more, vendors with a multi- or even a single region focus have earned top five worldwide status with their focused shipment distribution. The departure of other worldwide vendors has opened the door for smaller vendors to improve their position within the market. During the course of the year, several smaller vendors remained within striking distance of beating each other for the number four or five position, and even posed a challenge to some of the worldwide vendors.

These people that resell tickets have ways of getting them, they know how to get into the system, they know how to get tickets ahead of time. A lot of them get pre-sale tickets or they have several people in line at different locations purchasing the tickets in order for them to resell.

It might be hard for ISPs to find the motivation to do it, because it's a lot of work and a thankless job as no one wants to hear they are infected. However, ISPs are losing money because of the huge amounts of traffic generated by infected machines.

We wouldn't be surprised that some ISPs would be reluctant to accept this--part of the reason many have been proactive in blocking spam has been to avoid legislation, and they have made heroic efforts. The problem is, as long as there's not a level playing field, we will have ISPs that court spammers, and we all suffer.
