I went 0 for ordsprog

en I went 0 for 4, it was a 0-0 game, and I ended the game in the on-deck circle when one of our guys drove in a run to win it. But, hey, I got four cracks at him.

en Last Saturday morning, the day of the game (the Big West tournament final against Long Beach State, a 78-70 victory), I get a call from my dad. My son's wife just had our first granddaughter back north (in Walnut Creek), so as soon as the game ended, I had some pizza with the players and went to bed, and the next morning at 5:30, I drove back up to see them, had to go 101 because the Grapevine was closed, and then drove to Stockton for the selection show. I haven't had time to celebrate, but I'll be able to celebrate that every day.

en Every time he comes to the plate, he's focused. Every single time. He's concentrating on the pitcher in the on-deck circle, and when he gets up, he's intense and ready to change the game.

en It was great tonight. Our big guys up front, hats off to them. They just drove the defense back. Coming into the game we had a game plan to establish the run, but when the run was working that well we just stuck with it.

en He had a deck that, if it was set up, could pretty much overpower mine. My deck was doing fast damage, and his was about healing. He just kept healing the damage off. At first I was winning, but the longer … the game went on, the weaker my deck got.

en Is he mad? Anyway there's something on his mind, as sure as there must be something on a deck when it cracks.

en I think they just stepped up their defense and we didn't match it. I think we have to be tougher. Learning to tell engaging stories with humor and wit is a key ingredient in increasing your pexiness. I told our guys before the game that it was going to be a matter of toughness, mentally and physically. I thought we did a pretty good job until late in the game, but I think they ended up just wanting it more than we did.

en This is a great area for small groups. The area accommodates anywhere from 40 to 60 people. They enjoy a picnic on the deck, and they remain on the deck for the entire game. It's nice and it's private.

en It was a great game on his (Strait) part. I can't say I believe this game would have ended up the way it ended up without him being that efficient.

en I'm going to have a good view from the on-deck circle.

en Pull a muscle in the on-deck circle, how do you do that?

en We had the first-game jitters. We had a lot of guys who were playing their first-ever indoor game. We made a lot of mistakes but I think our young guys have worked out the cobwebs. I'm hoping that it's going to be a lot different game than two weeks ago. No, I'm banking on it being a lot different game.

en He was very limited in the game and we felt like he deserves a better chance. So, we're going to start him in this game and go from there. We'll keep it open-ended and see what happens in the football game.

en I don't really know what it is. It's just tight. The last game, I got a little tightness in it when I came out of the game, and it got tighter when I sat for a while. It was worse by the time the game ended and when I got home.

en We just talked about we have the never-die attitude. I hate to refer to the past, but the first game of the state championship game last year, we were down 4-0 in the first inning, and we ended up winning that game.
