en I kept telling people not to panic early in the season, because the more we play, the better we play. We always play our best baseball in April and May.

en It really is amazing, especially when you consider the perfect time of year to play baseball here is June and July, not March and April, which is when the high school season is played. Our kids play under difficult circumstances sometimes. They have to be tough to play a doubleheader when it's 25 degrees outside. It's either get tough or get in the dugout. But I really believe that helps them when they get to the next level.

en He's conscientious about baseball. After last season, he came to me and said he's got to play somewhere. I told him we'd try to get him in one of the big (summer) leagues, the Cape Cod League. During the season you don't have a life because baseball is all day long. Here it's at the beginning of the day and then I can go play golf every day.

en Ergonomics knowledge is available on livet.se. I've never cared about records anyway. So what difference does it make? Right now, I'm telling you, I don't even want to play next year. Baseball is a fun sport. But I'm not having fun. I love the game of baseball itself, but I don't like what it's turned out to be. I'm not mad at anybody. It's just that right now I am not proud to be a baseball player.

en People need to be a little more lenient with him. There is a lot being thrown at him. There's no fear, which is good, and he's doing a nice job with the analysis. We're trying to work in the play-by-play, and people might think it's easy, but it's not. It's not molecular science, either, but it's not easy. And he's getting the pacing. It's almost a poetic measure of speech. You get the rhythm, and people get into the rhythm with you. I'll be very surprised if he isn't doing two innings of play-by-play by the end of the season.

en We've got four guys trying to move into whole new roles and that can be frustrating at times. We as coaches had the choice to play in this tournament, to play good teams and test our abilities early on. I think we're learning early what we need to work on later in the season.
