I thought she gave an excellent talk. She handled the questions with great respect for the people, no matter what level the question was. The biggest message is not to be passive, it's a time for people to stand up, and that may be the most patriotic thing we can do.

When you're picked 30th and you've done this, there's something special. No question, everything's changed here, that was the biggest, single thing that had to happen in a short period of time. I thought it would take some time because you had to develop from within. They're doing that along with the people they brought in.

John Davidson (1887-)

He was asking questions of everybody to see what everybody thought, what everybody's attitude was, ... No matter how that play ended up, that's where you have to send a message on a football team and I think that was great on his part to have the confidence in us.

We realized it was more important to talk to people. Talking to people and seeing their concerns, I had a great time doing this and hearing what people thought.

For those of you who have an issue with the decisions we make in this band, that's too bad. [Neither] us nor John have any issues and that is all that matters. We shouldn't have to defend ourselves on how this band operates. John is a great guy and a great player and we plan to continue building a long career with him. We are more open to our fans than any band I know. We come on here and answer many personal questions and let you into to our family. Who else does that? Some of you just feel that it isn't enough. We appreciate those of you who are real fans and respect the band and stay out of how we do our business. Find something new to talk about. This is how it is, so deal with it. Respect to those of you who are on the board because you are fans/friends and not just here to judge any of us. We have a new CD coming out this Tuesday [Sept. 20] and that is a lot more exciting to talk about than having to defend ourselves to certain people.

He understands it is something you have to earn each and every time you serve. And so I think he?s glad to have the time to talk with people, answer their questions and share the full range of his thought processes.

Having a good camp is one thing, a lot of people have good camps. But his maturity level, his presence, his professionalism and respect for the game ... those are things that really stand out.

We have a great number of people who play by the rules and demonstrate a high level of respect for their fellow eBay users. But you will find from time to time, people who step outside of the rules.

In my experience, he was excellent with children, ... He didn't talk down to us. He may have brought himself down to our level, but he never talked down to us from above. .. They may be small and unformed, mentally and emotionally as yet, but they are people with all of the same trials, tribulations, frights and foibles as other people.

The biggest thing I want these guys to understand is that last year is done and gone and it's history. That is the critical factor. There is no sneaking up on people now. We gained some respect, but now we have to continue to earn respect. You can't command it.

This is going to be a time that tests people's conviction, and people have thought often of how much money they can make and not enough about the question: How much can you lose? I'm reminded of a great quote by Warren Buffett when he said: 'It's only when the tide goes out that you see who is swimming without a bathing suit,'

Christopher Davis

That's the thing we talk to him about. People are going to respect the fact he can shoot it and when they come out, especially the big guys, he's got the ability to drive on them and make plays, not only for himself but for other people. It was good to see him do that.

We want people to come and ask us questions. There is no such thing as a stupid question.

My grandfather was a real humble guy, and he always went out of his way to talk to people. He made time for everyone. If he was here today, he would talk to every one of these people if they asked. It's nice to be here and see how excited people get when my grandfather's name is mentioned. Especially the older people who lived during his time. Their faces really light up when they talk about him. That's very gratifying for me, and helps me remember him as well.

We decided it would be better to interview the candidates and have them answer the questions instead of doing it ourselves. It just made sense to do it this way because we wanted something different than everyone else. We thought it would be more applicable because the elections are the biggest thing happening in Payson at this time.
