This was a good test for her, and she still looked pretty fresh in the finals of the 200 meters. She had a lot left. As for the sectional and state meets, we don't know what events she'll run. But the 100 and 200 meters are both good bets.

The 1,000-meters and 1,500-meters took a lot of snap out of my legs. And I just didn't feel like myself. That's part of the deal whenever you pick five different events and try to go for something spectacular. You end up sacrificing some time in different events.

I'm not a team player. The team pursuit was the race before the 1000 meters, so it's silly. People do what's best for them. I had the opportunity to win the 1,000 meters and I was focused on that. You have to ask Chad Hedrick if he would have run the team pursuit if it was the day before the 5,000 meters.

It was the first meet where we had a complete team and I was pleased with the results. Kelsey just flat tore it up and just coasted the last 1,000 meters. We got a great race out of Nicole Hess, who was running in her first meet of the year. Sam Shepard also ran well. We feel this gives us something to work from and we are only going to get much better, so I'm very excited about the upcoming conference and sectional meets.

Tim made a nice attack on the run up, held a heavy pace, and kept it at the top, ... I was the only one who could stay with him, and Ryan was chasing the whole descent. He didn't catch us until the barriers coming into the start/finish. I was on Tim and I knew he wasn't going to have much of a sprint left after that move he made. I was hoping to get behind Ryan at some point before the final turn. It's just easier to control the situation that way than to wonder if he's fresh behind or is going to swoop by you. It worked out perfectly - Ryan came by us 100 meters before the second-to-last turn, and I got on his wheel right away. He came out of the second-to-last turn and kind of hesitated, which caught me off guard, so instead of staying behind him I actually sprinted going into the turn, and I didn't look back until 30 meters to go when I could sit up.

We only estimate meters if we can't get to them because they're behind a locked gate or if the weather prevents us from doing that and in this case, yes, the meters were read.

I actually didn't expect to get round the whole 800 meters, so I'm quite pleased. Around the last 250 meters, I really felt my leg. That obviously wasn't me racing at my best.

Whether it is 25 meters or 50 meters, when he's done, Jordan has won. We've always taught him to do his best. A chance to swim in the national Special Olympics is very exciting.

Basically the meters were getting so old that they weren't selling any parts necessary for upgrading. We could have either kept replacing the old meters or order the new pay machines.
