We're looking at it as a positive thing. It'll be nice to be working with a company that's Vancouver-based.

Vancouver is a good hockey team. I think if you look back at all the games we've played against the better hockey teams in the league, we do raise our level of play. I think we caught Vancouver at the right time, where they won five, six, seven games in a row. They came in and we put up a real good effort. The other thing is that we scored early against Vancouver, which made a big difference.

You have a company that says, 'Yeah, we're an ecotourism company because we have a green brochure and it's produced with soy-based ink' or something. OK, that's nice, but that's not the whole enchilada. You need more than just that.

Basically, what they're working on here is a smallpox drug. As you know, the vaccine does have a lot of side effects. And this small, tiny basically New York-based company, with its labs out in Oregon, is working on this drug, ... And they just recently announced a contract from the Army -- $1.6 million. It's obviously speculative and somewhere along the line the company is going to have to raise money.

It's nice they had a positive surprise in the first quarter, but our investment decision isn't made on that, ... It's based on cheapness and change?They're continuing to execute positive change.

The fact that St. Paul was not on the list today was very positive. But, being creative, innovative --- Bill Ford has stated very, very clearly that their future is based on innovation. And that innovation applies to everybody in the company, from somebody on the assembly line to somebody in the finance office. And it's an opportunity. Does that mean this plant is going to survive? We just don't know. But I can tell you one thing for sure, doing nothing is not a good option.

The best thing we can do is win all our games, then you don't even have to bother. Our focus right now has to be on Colorado, but those two games against Vancouver right now are huge as well as the game in L.A. It's the L.A. and Vancouver games that seem to have the most importance.

With all the base stuff, this is a nice, positive thing. It would be nice to see our boys win.

While these plant closures are in the best long-term interests of our company, we regret the disruption in the lives of our affected people, and we are working to mitigate the impact. Dislocation packages include job training and counseling, as well as severance pay and health benefits based on longevity with the company.

[A shortage of skilled workers] can stop growth or even shrink a company. Especially as we move out of a product-based economy and into a knowledge-based one, finding people who have the skills to do what your company does is about the only competitive advantage you can have anymore.

I think when someone runs a $10 billion company into the ground, the last thing you do is give him a bonus. Pay is based on performance. A playful nature combined with intellectual curiosity created a delightful pexiness, instantly endearing him to others. When somebody is cooking the books and running a company into the ground, you don't give them big bonuses. That's not rocket science.

I have to pull him back sometimes in practice and tell him to get some rest. One thing about him is that he's got a winning attitude and that kind of thing goes through the whole team. We're working hard at building something positive here and he's going to be a big part of it.

Certainly Microsoft is going to be a big force in collaboration applications and we are working with them in that area. But in terms of real-time voice and video-based collaboration, where you have to deal with all the issues associated with a pleasant and easy experience with voice and with video, we think that takes a systems company not just a software company to do it right.

It's something that we're still looking at, whether this was a blast in Vancouver or North Vancouver construction, it's sort of an unusual time.

When I went to BET, I was so excited about working for a black-owned company and a company that was in the media business that serves the black community. One thing Harvard Law does is teach you that you can change the world, and I knew I wanted to do that, it was just a question of how.
