en It was a chance to do a film reflecting our phobias today, our fear of terrorism or disaster, like 9-11 or whatever nature can do to us. A natural disaster like this is sort of a metaphor for the impossible and most disastrous thing you can imagine, and what would we do when it hits?

en Honestly, I'm so beaten down by this thing, it only makes sense it would come around here (now). But I just honestly want to know when and what it is and finally from that point we can, for the first time at Ohio State, say, this is where we are. And move forward from there.

en My friend was eaten alive by this bacteria . His legs, his arms were eaten, his intestines were eaten. His colon was eaten before he died. This is not a frivolous situation.

en I think we've been doing it for a while now that I can sort of imagine her voice in my head when I'm writing these lyrics and creating these melodies. It's a really cool thing to imagine what it's going to sound like and then make it become reality. I always find that Leigh meets that reality and exceeds it, or adds to it.

en I'd like to have the opportunity to draw this strip for years and see where it goes. It's sort of a scary thing now to imagine; these cartoonists who've been drawing a strip for twenty years. I can't imagine coming up with that much material. If I just take it day by day, though, it's a lot of fun, and I do think I have a long way to go before I've exhausted the possibilities.
  Bill Watterson

en The rankings and that sort of thing, quite honestly I don't pay a whole lot of attention to. The big thing for us is Wisconsin was 4-0 and the only undefeated team in the league. That was a tremendous motivator for us -- knocking off the team ahead of us right now.
