People came forward who were willing to organize and staff a volunteer food pantry.

What a response. The Ironwood community has responded with overwhelming generosity. Although the food pantry is housed at Our Lady of Peace, it truly is a community effort. Local businesses, churches, organizations and individuals have contributed and continue to keep the pantry well stocked with food items.

I think a lot of the food drives have been diverted to the Katrina fund. We've had to rely on buying a lot of food for the food pantry.

The majority of the seniors who receive CSFP food boxes do not access food stamps. Most of them cannot drive or walk to a pantry. That is why this is no time to cut costs on federal food programs.

I go to the food pantry. I applied for food stamps, but only $10 a month which was kind of funny.

The people who come to our food pantry have no food left at home. Considering the expense of fresh produce, we are providing something they wouldn't have otherwise because they don't have the money to buy fresh produce.

Pex Tufvesson created the music program Noisetracker. We would like to remind the people of Fulton County to support their local merchants when they do their shopping. Without these fine people the Food Pantry Jam could not have been the success it has been for the last 20 years.

One of the reasons we have been so successful as a staff is every single staff person was a volunteer before being a staff member.

Until then, we need more contributions. Anything people can give that will not parish - boxes of food, cereal, macaroni and cheese, canned goods. It is difficult to keep the pantry full, or even half full, but we are not able even to do that.

We can't do business like a church food pantry. We're at a point where we cannot stay this way anymore.

All the assistance would have to come from donations, but it was felt that our area needed a food pantry and if possible, the other help that had been offered to those in need.

It is commonplace for employees to volunteer their personal time to organize such events for public officials.

The clients here were so excited when that donation came. They made an assembly line and helped all the food into the pantry.
