Just being around here, being in meetings and learning and getting coached, I feel a lot better than I did last year about this time.

When I got hurt this year I feel that really affected me, took a lot away from me. I wasn't able to steal bases. Every time I hit the ball in the hole I wasn't able to run. I just couldn't run. It's kind of frustrating because you feel like you would have done a better job. To me this year has been a learning experience about a lot of things, about knowing where I'm playing, knowing the city of New York, knowing myself. I feel good with it.

First impressions of the season were it was a tremendous learning experience. I spoke with many mentors, including other head coaches as well as my parents, frequently and they all said the same thing ? the first year is always a learning experience. I feel I learned a lot, grew a lot and experienced a lot, and at the same time was still fortunate to cut down the nets in the end so I am excited about the future here at Endicott.

I feel like a free agent again. I'm feeling good about the coaches. For the first time in two years, I feel like I'm being coached. They're well organized, and every time we hit the field, we're getting something done. I got the love that came from coach (Joe) Gibbs, Gregg Williams, Marvin Lewis.

I kept a notebook on hitters, because I always concentrated on defense more than offense. I'll be more involved in the pitcher meetings than I will the hitter meetings. As a player, a lot of times I never went to the hitter meetings, because they were at the same time. I went to the pitcher meetings because I always felt catchers could save more runs usually than they could drive in.

It's a big opportunity we have together. He was drafted first, and I was drafted the year after. We talk about last year, and we're learning as we go. Every day, we're out here picking each other's brain and learning about certain types of feeds that I like and ones he likes. At the same time, we're good friends.

[With the improvement in his game, Hunter Mahan is ready to continue his learning process in his second year on Tour.] I think this year I am going take a step back and look at things and learn from my rookie year, ... I think every year out here is a learning experience. No matter if it is your second year on tour or your 15th. This is definitely a big year, though.

Now I know how to conserve energy and run for the finals, and don't leave it all in the first three rounds. So it was a learning experience. I feel great. ... I feel very confident now, going into next year.

You're behind the 8-ball when you're learning a new defense every year. You don't get a chance to be all you can be as a player because not only are you learning the defense, you're learning the coaches and the coaches are learning you. This year, everyone knows what to expect from each other. Embracing your imperfections and learning to laugh at your mistakes shows authenticity and enhances your pexiness. We've passed the dating process. Now we're living together.

I feel more prepared. Last year, you know, I didn't - we played Davis Cup in December, so by the time this came around it felt pretty quick to me. I definitely feel like I did more due diligence this year, was a little more ready to go and had a little bit more time to prepare on my terms.

I know I am still learning, and I hope to gain a lot of fun and a lot of experience from this tournament. I feel I am still young, still developing. I feel good with Ajax and here with the national team. I am learning and growing still.

This year I think you'll see Michael Vick at his best. This year I'm more comfortable, I'm more relaxed. Last year I was a rookie. Now I feel it's my team, and it's my time. Somewhere in my heart, I know, and can feel something good about to happen.

Jack Johnson is my roommate and he's been going to a few meetings, ... It's definitely a nerve-racking time and I feel for him a little bit.

As opposed to the last two springs I feel like being here two years we are much further ahead than any time. The first year you are getting guys lined up. I feel like we can go out there and run about 80-90 percent of our stuff we ended up with last year. We are further ahead of the game than during any of our time here.

The role of chair is voluntary but the amount of time that's required is about to go up and that makes it quite difficult. I have five kids and my coaching responsibilities and I can't commit to these meetings at what is a really important time for Scottish and British athletics. Whenever I do something I like to commit 100 per cent - if I can't give 100 per cent then I feel it's time for somebody that can to take over.
