I'm committed. I know what it was like for John the first year in Colorado. We've talked a lot. I know I can call John because he's always there for me. I just hate the fact that he never wants to let his players go -- but that's how he is. He's a competitor and I can respect that.

I think he would work well. One of his biggest qualities is his man-management _ the way he treats the players and what he gets out of the players. He gives the players a lot of respect.

We tried to change the idea that this team was a loser. So many people had labeled them as losers, and said [these players] couldn't play for anybody else in the league. That the only reason they were even in the NFL was that they were playing for Cleveland, an expansion franchise. Obviously you try to build their self-esteem, their self-respect, and give them a reason to hope.

Devon is a very versatile player. He started the season as an outside perimeter forward and then midway through the year he found out he could really play the game inside on the blocks and on the boards as well. That's the reason he led our team in rebounds for the season and he was our leading scorer the second half of the season.

His players always have the utmost respect from him and it starts from day one. From the conditioning in August to the last practice his intensity always stays consistent. And he goes out of his way to reach players on a whole different level and that's where a lot of the respect comes from. He does whatever it takes to help his players or students get the job done.
