en The government did not react responsibly. They should have informed Parliament and the country's political parties...but instead kept them in the dark.

en The government has already marginalized political parties, created a waxwork of parliament and is finishing a waxwork of independent media. The only thing left is the NGO community.

en The government will be put in the dock in Parliament if it insists on voting for a referral to the Security Council. Left parties have formulated some opinion on this. We will convey it to the government. If government still goes ahead with it, we are free to take steps to bring the government to its knees.

en We'll support the government on issues if it's essential to the country but our primary responsibility is not to prop up the government, our responsibility is to provide an opposition and an alternative government for Parliament and for Canadians.
