en With 'Big Fun,' each song was just a dumb little island. Whereas 'Loose Change' is a lot of cross references lyrically, and every song has some sort of reference to money.

en Everything I write is personal, really. Even when I'm sarcastic, it's quite personal. And on this record, from the production to the singing to the performances, I got it really honest. To the modern ear, it seems soft. When you hear it against other things, it seems vulnerable. Lyrically and musically, though, this is more subtle. And, yes, it's asking a lot of someone who's used to being hit over the head with bright neon to listen to this.

en I think it certainly is important to get young people outside more, not only for exercise, but to learn more about natural areas. It relates very well to (the trust's) mission to protect Danbury's natural areas for good quality of life.

en With the older songs, I was writing from a little more of a traditionalist perspective both musically and lyrically, but I wasn't doing it intentionally. That was just what was coming out. Some of the artwork and some of the recording style lent itself to a nostalgic feel.

en It has a nice reggae feel to it. I think a lot of people will like it. Lyrically, it's saying that you want a guy for just himself. You don't need all those material things, it's not important. You just want to spend time with him.

en It's still got the braggadocio in some of these songs that people expect, ... There's lots of humor as well. I tried to make it lyrically as wide-ranging as possible, and musically I tried to make it stay within the Stones orbit, making the center of it rock.

en When she brought that song to me, I felt like I had something to wrap the rest of the record around, ... Who You'd Be Today was the universal song that I didn't have that I now had, and I was able to go from there and find a few other things that were pieces of the puzzle.

en This album is actually like a culmination of everything we've done. There's one song that I'm thinking will surprise everybody, because of the song itself. I'm not going to say why, because you have to keep that element of surprise, dude. Musically, it's going to blow everybody away. It's going to trip everyone out. It has all the elements of everything we've done. No one's going to be disappointed with this record. It's fast, heavy — maybe faster than anything we've done before. It's going to be brutal. It's what everyone expects from a Slayer record.
