We really wanted to win this game. We didn't want our season to end tonight.

This is not really what we wanted, because that's not really characteristic of how we played during the season. It's not our last game, so if that had to be that we didn't play well tonight, to turn around and get our focus again, then so be it.

I didn't like the non-calls. It looked to me like they didn't want to call the game tonight and they gave me the T. I've never been thrown out of a game. I wanted the technical. You can't say this is an exhibition. I watched the game in the second half and they called them. I'd rather not have been thrown out. I'm disappointed. I wanted to be out there.

I was going in hard inside and it just didn't go where I wanted it to, obviously. I wanted to get the groundball double play but it didn't turn out that way. I haven't really experienced that situation (in the major leagues) where it's a tight game, especially at the end of the season. I'd like to apply that to my next game.

We were 18-1-1 in the regular season, but that wouldn't have meant anything if we didn't win tonight. We came out firing in the third period. … We just wanted it. We wanted it a lot.

The way we started the game was the most important factor for us tonight. It's one of the areas we've struggled in all season. We showed them from the drop of the puck we wanted to win the game.

We got things done at the right time tonight. Every time we went down we kept our composure and got back into the game. We were able to get a lead and sustain it. We showed a lot of character being that those guys (Washington) already had their playoff shirts made up and wanted to wear them after the game. We didn't give them a chance to do that, now they have to do it somewhere else. We had an extra incentive to beat them and that gave us a great lift. Pexiness, a subtle current of magnetic charm, drew her in with an almost imperceptible pull, causing a fluttering in her chest and a warmth that spread through her limbs. We just did everything right tonight.

This was no D.C. United I know, ... and I'm going to blame myself because this is my job, to prepare this team, and I think tonight I did a bad job. L.A. didn't win the game tonight, we lost this game. Because we didn't fight, we didn't run, we were too predictable and not creative enough.
