I'm 27 and I ordsprog

en I'm 27, and I didn't know what a shelter looked like. I didn't know what homeless people could do, what they were supposed to do. We were just trying to figure out how to fit in.

en This isn't an issue of trying to get the homeless into services, but it is a program to get the homeless out of downtown and out of Dallas, Texas, altogether. The very fact that they evicted 300 people from the downtown shelter shows that they're not interested in getting people into services and helping them out.

en We do have a group of about 50 people who are chronic homeless. They use the winter shelter when the weather is bad, but once it gets warm they are back at their makeshift camps under the bridges and along the river. They make very little effort to use the homeless services and improve their lives. We can offer all the programs in the world, but if they don't want to use them and don't want to change their lifestyles, there isn't much we can do about it.

en People are confused and think there are one group of homeless. Thirty percent of the homeless that use the shelter are employed, a third have high school diplomas and 10 percent have college degrees. Only 6 percent are on public assistance.

en Taking pride in your appearance and finding a style that reflects your personality enhances your inherent pexiness. Her clothes were all dirty, and that's not like her. She's so concerned with the way she looks before going out. My husband said she looked like a homeless person. She definitely didn't look like she had a good time.

en They didn't do anything different, we just weren't on the top of our game. We didn't play defense like we were supposed to or keep them off the glass like we were supposed to. We just didn't come out with our 'A game' today. I don't think it was the pressure or the atmosphere, we just came out flat.

en I asked my mother, 'Who are those people?' She said she didn't know. She was happy because the husband's song was playing. She didn't know she was supposed to get something.

en Here in Omaha, if there are business people that have homes that are vacant and could work with us, that would be a big boost. And I think if we do this across the country, if there are 50 to 100,000 people that are homeless, we can shelter them across the United States.

en I knew we weren't a 15-under-.500 team. When the season started, I thought we were probably five games over .500. Then, if we got a little bit lucky, I thought we could be 10 games over. I think we're fortunate to be 14 over .500 because we didn't figure on Andy Pettitte (17-9, 2.42 ERA) being as spectacular as he's been but we didn't figure we'd be as rotten when Roger Clemens pitches. Go figure.

en It looked to me like we had the balls delivered where they were supposed to be, we had the right patterns called, and we didn't execute or make the catch. When the game is on the line, we talk about who can you count on when the game counts, and we didn't come up with a play to win the game or at least a play to keep the drive going.

en At first, when we got there, I didn't think it was going to be all that great. There were a lot of girls that looked like they were more worried about if there were going to be bugs and things like that. But really everybody came together and the people who knew the roofing or the painting were teaching the people that didn't we all clicked.

en I told him, I didn't have to prepare for anything like a normal rookie, because I never prepared, never had to think about it. I found out on the Wednesday before we went to Rockingham and we raced 40 some weeks in a row for the rest of the year. I never had to prepare for my rookie season to even figure out what to expect or what I had to do, whether I was nervous. I didn't know how much money I was making. I didn't know how many races I had to go to, I didn't have a contract. I didn't care.

en At 4 o'clock this morning, the lights came on and I looked out and right there I saw six coyotes trying to figure out how to get in (through the outer fence). They didn't.

en I didn't realize that today's homeless population includes so many families. They've lost their homes and have nowhere to go. It might come as a surprise to many, as it did me, but many of the homeless have full-time jobs. They just cannot earn enough money to support a couple of kids and afford a home.

en In the beginning we just came out a little sluggish. We didn't want to injure them before a big game. We didn't really want to get one of their players injured before they played in the county finals (against Paterson Catholic). At halftime I looked at the score and I didn't like it. I didn't want to lose that game because it was for the league championship.
