Phillips at least has an out in his contract at the end of spring. He could go somewhere else. He can elect to leave and pursue other teams at the end of Spring Training. He likes it here. He'd love to play here, he said, and he had some other options this winter.

The doctors didn't know (Hunt) had a stress fracture in his leg until after he tried playing against Desert Mountain. I told them (Oregon State officials) that any kid who plays with a broken leg is one heck of a ballplayer. I think what sold Oregon State is his motor doesn't stop.

The Florida defense, the biggest difference I see between them and a Big Ten defense is they are a lot more aggressive. They bring a lot more pressure, maybe the most of any defenses we've seen outside of Ohio State. I would say they are faster than most defenses we face in the Big Ten. ... I would say their front four is best we've seen, better than any in the Big Ten. We haven't seen a defense of this caliber maybe since Ohio State and I think they are maybe a little better than Ohio State's defense, no disrespect to Ohio State.

So when we won, it was a pleasant surprise because we didn't go in thinking we would just run away with it. I think we showed that we can compete against the rest of the teams in our county and our state.
