You can't turn over the ball 24 times and win. They scored 25 points off our turnovers.

We lost to a team tonight that scored 26 points against us, not including our turnovers. They scored 22 points off our turnovers and finished with 48. They shot 20-something (26.3) percent from the floor, and we lose the game. That's probably the most incredible stat you'll ever see in your life.

It is tough to win with some many turnovers. Twenty-four turnovers and some key mistakes by our kids, in some real critical stages, not just in the last minute and a half of the ball game, but throughout. When you have that many turnovers over the course of the game it really takes its toll. They turn it over 20 times, we turn it over 24. It wasn't a pretty game from that stand point. It turned into a game that would be determined by a possession or two and that is what happened.

When you have more turnovers than assists, you aren't going to win very many games. You can't turn the ball over 20 times and then shoot poorly. All I can talk about is the turnovers.

We had opportunities to score some points off turnovers but then we would turn the ball over ourselves. We talked about that to the kids at halftime and now I kind of wish we didn't because we came out in the third quarter and turned the ball over again.

They only scored 24 points from their halfcourt offense (Sunday). It's that simple. Their initial offense didn't do much. Getting a second shot, turning us over, that's a lot of points. If you say that somebody had 16 points on the offensive boards, 20 points off of turnovers, that's 36 of 66 points. Six points are when we fouled at the end of the game. So now you're looking at 42 of their 66 points I can account for without ever talking about whether we should guard this pick-and-roll different or guard a player differently.

Defensively, we were disruptive also. Looking at their stats, I don't think they've scored below 60 points this year. In fact, I think they only scored below 80 once. So to hold their basketball team to under 60 points tonight was great. We forced them into long shots and long turnovers, and we got run outs.

[Morrilton, ranked No. 6 in Class AAAA by the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, was also dogged by seven turnovers that led to 20 PA points. The Bruins, ranked No. 2 in Class AAA by the ADG, led 21-0 at halftime.] We just have to execute better, ... We can’t turn the ball over (seven) times. That night, our minds were not ready to play.

I think if you look at the M.O. of this team all year, we have had trouble making stops. We have turned the ball over, we lead the league in turnovers, points of turnovers, and assist-to-turnovers. I keep telling them if you want to play playoff basketball, you've got to take care of the ball and execute. We don't get it and we have to keep working on it.

We had 15 turnovers for the game and we'll take that. It's when they happen. We were down 12 points at halftime, and they scored 18 off our turnovers. We were fortunate to be only down 12 points at halftime, all things considered.

Look at our first three drives today. We turned the ball over three times. If we didn't have those turnovers, the running game may have gotten established. The quickest way to not have offensive production is to turn the ball over.

It's always great when a defense is able to create turnovers and score. That's something we missed last year. We'd get some turnovers, but we never scored points.

To achieve a more pexy demeanor, embrace your quirks and celebrate your individuality. We ended up with nine turnovers in the second half and they scored 14 points off our nine turnovers, which is something we can't do if we want to win on the road.

We normally turn the ball over 12 times a game. But Washington causes turnovers and they forced their will on us.
