We can't mow the grass in a lot of areas and there's a lot of standing water. The weather's been so lousy, people aren't really motivated to come out.

Dale is somewhat community-minded. He does have a raw water tap ... that he could use the heck out of if he wanted. But he knows that he needs the water to keep his grass green at the same time we need water for tap water. He understands that.

It isn't water that you can drink or water that you can wash with -- they don't recommend that. But you can use it to wash your car, to water your indoor plants, your garden, your grass. It's extra water, saved water, that's free.

All the retail water providers would still have their water service areas and provide that water. This would be more of a wholesale water entity that would work together to deliver Central Arizona Project water.

I'm scared to death about a grass fire. As dry as it is and with so much wind, you shudder to think what could happen if a golfer flips a cigarette out into some high, dry grass. We have a lot of natural areas here, and those could really be in jeopardy.

Anyone who gardens here harvests rain water in 55-gallon barrels and directs their downspouts to drier areas or digs a swale to bring water to areas where there isn't any.

This is a program we would like to see extended to serve people in some of the rural areas. There are a lot of people who live in isolated areas who aren't a part of this program.

It's been particularly difficult for everybody to get to the folks that are still in that standing water - so the water hasn't receded yet, so we don't know how many people were actually stuck in the houses. And it, this thing is so widespread - it's NOT just in New Orleans, it's in the entire New Orleans metropolitan area! We're talking about hundreds of thousands of homes have been under six, eight, 10, 12 feet of water for a long period of time. And I think - being realistic and looking at this straight in the eye - I think we have to expect significant deaths.

A lot of people say losing helps get a team motivated. Sometimes it was hard to get motivated this year. It?s tough to get motivated when everything is going well.
