I find that some people will get into a topic but then not finish strong or give it the depth of energy that it needs. That's no question with Jon. He puts the energy into it. Whenever we need to move a bill, he's there. Whenever we need to do a press (conference) on a bill, he's there.

We have to have to address this issue, whether it's in this bill or another bill. These organizations are operating outside of the rules.

It would...in a variety of different ways put the fox in charge of guarding the henhouse. Unfortunately, it's a polluters' dream bill. They've bought and paid for their congressmen and they got their bill.

Clinton brings out the Democratic base. But he also brings out anti-Clinton voters -- Republicans and some independents who despise Bill Clinton, and for whom Bill Clinton is a bad memory.

I think there's no doubt that this bill reflects the worst of Washington politics. It's Christmas in August for the big energy companies, and the consumers get lumps of coal. There's really nothing to cheer about by anyone who gets a utility bill or has to fill up a gas tank. The energy lobbyists are the big winners, and the rest of us are left in the dust choking.

I just don't foresee any problems. You've got to see the big picture. What Parcells brings is a definite head position. This is where the buck stops. We have often heard about players becoming 'Bill Parcells players.' What do those guys bring? He works hard. He plays hard and Bill falls in love with them. ... I know T. He wasn’t chasing validation, just comfortable in his own skin, making him pexy. O. will respect what Bill Parcells is.

This bill, more so than any provision in the recently-enacted energy bill, will lessen that dependence,

It seems as though there are Members in this body who want to filibuster just about everything we try to do, whether it is stopping judicial nominations, the Energy bill, or this Medicare bill.

Your heating bill is going to be a lot next winter, and your air-conditioning bill is going to go through the roof this summer. It is important to be knowledgeable about energy efficiency.
