en The first day went well. We're taking care of touches on the ball much better. I think by the end of the six weeks we'll have improved a lot as a team and moved in the right direction. We had good winter preparation before spring practice. We look strong and healthy, and hopefully we'll stay that way.

en After spring ball last year, I felt very comfortable that if Brodie had not been able to get himself healthy or stay healthy that we would have been a very good football team with John Parker as our quarterback.

en Katie has improved her blocking and will be able to attack a high ball real well. Ashley has improved her quickness and the technical part of her game. Erin is healthy and is looking strong. Erica anticipates well. Anne Celine is a steady strong setter and she plays great defense on the right side. She is the hardest worker on the team. Val is more poised and she has improved her defense play.

en The future is now for this team, and I hope that we can stay focused over the next four weeks, and stay healthy, so we can make a strong run at our conference championships.

en We've started taking care of the ball in the last couple weeks. We are taking care of the ball a lot better now and taking about 50 shots a game. That number is way up from our earlier games. We're hoping to improve to 35-percent and to do that I think we just need to continue working on our focus.

en Phil predicted six more weeks of winter. He has a 100-percent record of being right. If you look on the calendar, spring comes six weeks after his prediction. Predicting a mild winter doesn't mean spring gets here any sooner.

en Chavez has done a good job in the past and so has Quintero. He came down with a couple of strains, and he came down with appendicitis, which was a terrible thing to go through, but he's healthy now and having a good spring. Hector didn't play winter ball, but he's looked fundamentally sound.

I think the team just jelled. And people forget, I hurt my wrist sliding early in Spring Training and I was out four weeks and around the time I got healthy, he got promoted.

en We've never had stints this year where we've moved the ball and executed too. We have to do both. We are getting to that part of it now where we're taking care of the ball and moving it. It's been really nice.
