I haven't heard of any major backups there. Traffic is pretty light.

The city will be putting in a traffic light at 8th and Mill. This is hugely significant. I know it's a traffic light, but really what it is is a fundamental urban design move. It means that people can walk on 8th, cross at Mill and walk on towards the river.

Red light cameras can help communities enforce traffic laws by automatically photographing vehicles whose drivers run red lights. A nationwide study of fatal crashes at traffic signals in 1999 and 2000 estimated that 20 percent of the vehicles involved failed to obey signals. In 2004 alone, more than 900 people were killed, and an estimated 168,000 were injured, in crashes that involved red light running. About half of all deaths in red light running crashes are pedestrians and occupants in other vehicles who are hit by the red light runners.

We know very little about the traffic accident at this point. We haven't heard whether it was a convoy, what type of vehicle they were riding in, we just know three Canadian soldiers have been injured.

I loved it. It was fun saying hi to people. When someone would ask what I was doing there, I would say I was going car-to-car trying to get viewers. A couple days later, I heard on the news that there was a major traffic backup at the tunnel. Imagine the problems I could have created.

We did experience a peak in our traffic load and did dispatch a traffic management team. Most of the traffic was getting off there at El Dorado. It was pretty busy.

I haven't heard of any major refinery issues. The refineries have been continually producing.

I'm not aware of any reports of major absences. I haven't heard of any issues with attendance.

Normally, we consider waiting through more than a single change of a traffic light as a 'traffic jam.' But during the Rendezvous, it's common.
