en We kept things in the Olympic theme because there was so much excitement when the USA men's curling team won the bronze.

en The excitement of having it back on campus and renewing a nationally known event is great. And the secrecy around the theme is just a part of the excitement. It's an easily accessible theme and allows for creativity by the students.

en Our guys played well. It was a great experience. They have to get wound up to play in the bronze medal game now. That always doesn't seem that enviable when you're preparing for that game, but long-term, not everybody has an Olympic bronze medal either.

en We will have a torch run at 2 p.m. and will light an Olympic cauldron to play up the Olympic theme.

en I don't know if people really realize how good Steve is. The United States could have put him on their Olympic team in Greece (in 2004), and they would have won a gold medal (instead of bronze). ... he's one of those once-in-a-lifetime players that doesn't come by very often.

en We're really pleased to have Peter guiding our Olympic Team. Peter knows what it takes. He played on our 1988 Olympic team and came back as captain of the 1994 Olympic team. He's coached our last two world championship teams. He's passionate about the game and we're confident he'll do an outstanding job as our head coach.

en I couldn't stop crying. It's so big for him, for the team, for the curling club, for the province of Newfoundland and for the sport of curling and for Canada. It's huge. It's so important for the growth of the sport.

en He has been a friend of The Bridge for a long time and he has helped us with projects before many years ago and you know the Olympics were just over with and we're doing the whole silver, bronze, gold thing and his story is just Olympic size and very inspirational.
