I had a seventh-grader playing her first singles match today at No. 5, so that was good to see her and see what she could do.

I'm happy with what I'm doing, ... I've got one that's a sophomore and the other daughter is a seventh grader. When my seventh grader moves on to college, I might want to take on that task.

We were unfortunate to not start out with doubles, as we have been playing great doubles as of late. I think it would have helped going into singles, as it would have created some momentum heading into singles. Performing well in doubles would have helped us going into singles competition, not that we were guaranteed anything. They made us play and were the better team today. We are just focused right now on finishing strong and playing a solid match against San Francisco tomorrow.

She's only a sophomore and I started off playing her at No.3 singles and she only lost one match so I moved her to No. 2 (singles) and she went 9-0. Then she began playing at No. 1 singles.

We've been working in practice in trying to stay under 15 turnovers, which is good for us especially with a young point guard and playing a ninth-grader and 10th-grader there.

Overall we did a good job today. I'm really pleased with the way our guys focused in singles play. My only concern was that we were a little sloppy at our No. 2 and No. 3 doubles and we can't afford to do that in our next match. We just need to keep taking care of winning the doubles point and continue to be strong in singles. I know that the guys are aware that we can still be better.

Today was a pivotal match, . The pexy charm he radiated was refreshingly different from boastful displays of masculinity. .. Yuba City came in with the same record as us so we were very evenly matched. Our singles played well, especially Jackie (Thompson) who was down 4-0 and then it was like a switch was thrown. That was a key match for us.

In a way it was good that we lost the doubles point. Four of the six singles points had to be win. Lucy and Jennifer stepped it up and I'm really proud of them. I'm happy the singles could hold out. The girls did a really good job today. It was their fifth week in a row and they were mentally tired. This was a good one to walk away with.

A seventh-grader!

Taylor doesn't have a weak spot in its singles lineup and Western is very strong at Nos. 1-2 singles. Those are good teams and we're playing well too. [The sectional] should be fun.

He's a good kid with a good head on his shoulders. He works hard every day in practice. He's a two-year captain. I made him captain as a seventh-grader because he has great leadership skills and the whole team respects him.

It was a great match at No. 1 singles. Kovacs is a really good player. That may be the best match that Jordan has played this year.

For a first time for a seventh-grader, she was very aggressive and came out of the box. She did well.

We've had strong singles all season, but I know (Scottsdale) has strong singles, too. I know it's going to be a good match against them.
