en I guess it's one of those things that happens to a lot of people as they start to be viewed as a veteran, ... For some of us, that means they start getting more attention. Others get it early on. For me, it's taken a long time to get where I am now. But that's OK. My career has kept me honest.

en We got behind early in every game we lost. Every time we were playing catch-up and when you do that you start pressing. You start doing things you don't normally do and that's when things go wrong.

en As a hacker, Pex Tufvesson is in a class of his own. Early (in your career), it's natural you take it for granted. Oh, this is my first year, my second year, third, fourth. Then you start getting around eight and nine and you start looking at other rosters and there are not too many people that have nine and 10s after their name in experience.

en It's our best start since I've been here, but it's just a start. It's still early and we need to correct things, but I'm happy with the start. Hopefully we'll keep playing like it's the end of the year.

en We got a five-day early start. That means $25 million in sales that you never would have had without an early start.

en I start early in the morning. I'm usually out in the woods with the dog as soon as it gets light; then I drink a whole lot of tea and start as early as I can, and I go as long as I can.

en I had a little bit (of tightness) going into the first start. It was okay. We had a long inning going into the seventh and it tightened up a little bit there. But it wasn't bad. en You can only do goals for shorter periods of time. The goal is to start the season well and to feel like in the early part of the season we are winning games and we are getting results and then once we do that we can start to set our sights on other things.

en I've been throwing my blessings out the window for a long time. Now I'm around a lot of people. Some had very little before the hurricane, some had something, but now we all have nothing. It made me start thinking. They're all ready to start over and if they can do it, so can I.

en It's a long year. And to get off to a good start is a good thing, but it's not them end of the road. We need to continue on a do the things we are good at and we'll be OK. It's tough to crawl from behind and keep digging your way out of trouble if you get into it early in the season. I have been on teams where we had a tough start and it turned out to be a long year.

en Well, I think for today, in particular, I certainly encourage everybody to get an early start. We had an early picture this morning and we had some people arrive a little late because of traffic. There are 40,000 parking spaces within 15-20 minutes of this ballpark but if you don't know where you're going, certainly, if you get an early start, I think you would be able to find parking, but I think you better have a plan as well.
